Eat… at Danny Meyers new spot at “The” Gramercy Park Hotel, Mailano. This means “little pig” or “suckling pig,” and Meyer wanted to create a trattoria-like feel for the community, where customers could even come for a cup of coffee. The streets of Roma, or the streets of NY? You decide!

Visit… The American Beauty: Aesthetics and Innovation in Fashion exhibit at the FIT Museum. On display are over 80 garments by 25 different designers. The exhibit shows the relationship between beauty and the technical craft of dressmaking in the USA.

See and Eat… a piece of Will Cotton’s masterpieces. Cotton creates images that viewers normally dream of eating but now you actually can for a limited time! Partners & Spade, the downtown Manhattan storefront-studio-gallery run by marketing maestros Andy Spade and Anthony Sperduto, is bringing “The Will Cotton Bakery” to life on three Sundays in November (Nov. 8, 15 & 22, 2009). Cotton is a connoisseur of desserts as you may know from his work. Partners & Spade is at 40 Great Jones Street.

Listen… to Ancient Paths, Modern Voices: A Festival Celebrating Chinese Culture that pays tribute to a vibrant culture and its influence around the globe with 21 days of events and exhibitions at Carnegie Hall, New York City. It features Chinese musicians, including artists and ensembles traveling outside of China for the first time, performing myriad genres of music. This festival also includes traditional marionette theater, dance, exhibitions and more.

Watch… Those runners through the finish line run the NYC marathon this Sunday! The race attracts many world-class athletes not just for the grand prize of $600,000 but for the thrill of crossing the finish line. After forty years the marathon continues to grow in size and is the leader among marathons around the globe. Best of Luck to the runners, including DVF’er Stephanie White who is running to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society!

See… The Greenwich Village Parade, one of the best and most rowdy ways to see all of the innovative and fun Halloween costumes. Sprawl out October 31^st starting at 7pm from Spring Street to 21^st street on 6^th Avenue and get a glimpse of all this year’s creativity.

Explore… Kandinsky at the Guggenheim. Do not miss out on seeing one of the most talented artist of all time before his work heads back to Paris or else.

Eat: Gansevoort 69. After much anticipation, the restaurant that was once home to our favorite local spot Florent has finally opened.   With a complete renovation, the cold weather rolling in and  a new menu serving up comfort food, we will need to check it out. Time will only tell if the French fries can compete to the previous tenants…

Sip: Meatpacking Uncorked on October 9th. As part of the festival, wine tastings will take place at many of the neighborhood’s fashionable shops. The event also features live music and entertainment, including a performance by cult cabaret stars Lady Rizo and the Assettes in Gansevoort Plaza. Don’t forget to stop by the DVF shop!
