THE PLANET'S HAPPIEST COUNTRY
June 7th, 2010

Vanuatu, formerly called The New Hebrides is the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life. 83 islands make the country, 65 are inhabited by only 250,000 people. The nature, sub tropical is very lush, very rich and very beautiful. The people are equally beautiful, friendly and probably the happiest people on the planet. For one week, we sailed from island to island…going on the most beautiful hikes, walks and swims. Everywhere people welcomed us with dances, ceremonies, fruits and friendship. In return, we gave children books and toys. We bought anything we could buy to contribute to their economy: weavings, carvings, shell necklaces. Most of the islands don’t have electricity but sometimes they have a generator and a television for the whole island. We even spotted a satellite to be told that they were missing the $350 for a subscription in order to watch the World’s Cup. We happily changed that and I will always remember the smile of the chief when he thanked us!!!
