So we’re gearing up to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out at DVF. You’ve seen the PSA, can’t wait to get the t-shirt, but have you mapped out your evening? DVF is part of the MPD’s neighborhood-wide celebration and has planned an evening of sit-ups, styling, and song. Diane will also be on hand to celebrate!

7 to 8pm: Fall for Fitness
Want to know how to tone your tush for Fall’s skinny pants or tighten your arms while sitting at your desk? Join Tracy Anderson for a fitness Q&A as well as exercise demonstration. Her famous DVD’s will also be on sale so you can take her home with you!

8 to 9pm: Celeb Styling Session
Molly Sims and other guest celebrities serve as stylists for all your fall Fashion questions. They’ll help you pick out the looks you love and show you how to make this season’s trends work for you.

9 to 10pm: Diane Birch Performance
Described has  “Zooey Deschanel meets Joni Mitchell, with the tiniest dash of Norah Jones” by The New York Times, Diane Birch will be performing songs from her debut album Bible Belt live at the DVF shop.

And if that’s not enough, with any DVF purchase that evening, you will be entered to win a raffle of epic proportions! But we don’t want to ruin the surprise… and stay tuned for FNO events at DVF stores in London, Paris, Moscow, Athens and Spain.

Last night’s CFDA awards took place at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. As president of the CFDA, Diane spoke to the audience, thanked everyone for coming, congratulated all the winners, and presented a special tribute to Michele Obama (read Diane’s CFDA Diary)…

The decision of what’s in and what’s out is now in your hands!  The CFDA has announced a new category for the upcoming Fashion Awards – the Popular Vote Award, where you get to vote on your favorite men’s and women’s designers. Sponsored by L’Oréal Paris, the vote kicks off today and lasts through June 9th. You can cast your vote from a list of present and past winners, nominees and other CFDA members and if you don’t see your favorite, you can nominate them! The winner will be announced June 15th at the CFDA Fashion Awards at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.

Get set. Go!  Nominees for the 2009 CFDA Awards ceremony were announced last night in Manhattan and  competition is sure to be tough as the likes of Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, and Narciso Rodriguez compete for Womenswear designer of the year.  First Lady Michelle Obama will also be honored along with the winners at the ceremony on June 15th (this year at Alice Tulley Hall). As the CFDA President, DVF was there to support the nominees!

The W and CFDA 2009 Calendar

In the age of blackberry and twitter, it’s easy to forget about the good ole’ fashioned calendar. The one that hangs in your office and that you don’t have to plug in, or scroll down to look at. On our wish list this year is the W Hotels 2009 Calendar. Created in partnership with the CFDA, the limited edition calendar features 12 months of inspiration from CFDA designers, including DVF. And if a beautifully designed display piece is not enough, all the proceeds from the calendar will benefit the CFDA foundation, which raises funds for charitable initiatives, including Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
