luckyshops
One of our favorite events, Lucky Shops, just got even more favorite. This year, the annual shopping party has chosen Dress for Success as its charity partner and DVF is proud to be a part of the Shop for Success boutique, where all the proceeds will benefit Dress for Success. In addition to DVF look for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. The event kicks of with a VIP night on Thursday (where 50% of the ticket proceeds will also go towards Dress for Success), and continues through the weekend with all-day shopping on Friday and Saturday.

Our 14th Street Window

Our 14th Street Window

Our new window this month at the New York store helps define what our collection is about for the season. The Window was inspired by the metallics, sparkle and photographic sun black print from this month’s collection which you will be able to see on our mannequin when you pop by the shop. Start your holiday wish list and check out her Caddy coat (or try the shorter Balia version, a must for the holidays!) So come on by 14th and Washington… See you soon!

WALKEN BY
Friday, October 30th, 2009

Picture 1We have to admit we’ve always been a little obsessed with Christopher Walken – but artist John W. Codling takes it to whole new level with his exhibit “Sundays with Chris,” on display at the DVF gallery through this weekend. He began the series earlier this year, when the Market tanked and he sought solace in painting, and suddenly realized that all he was painting was Christopher Walken. Profit from the sale of the artwork will go to Team Continuum, a non-profit organization assisting cancer patients and their families.

WEEKEND AGENDA
Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Picture 10Eat and Drink… At Corsino, the new spot from Jason Denton of inoteca fame. Like restaurants before it, the focus is on wine, cheese, small plates, not to mention, brisket meatballs and homemade pastas. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Watch… Those runners through the finish line run the NYC marathon this Sunday! The race attracts many world-class athletes not just for the grand prize of $600,000 but for the thrill of crossing the finish line. After forty years the marathon continues to grow in size and is the leader among marathons around the globe. Best of Luck to the runners, including DVF’er Stephanie White who is running to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society!

See… The Greenwich Village Parade, one of the best and most rowdy ways to see all of the innovative and fun Halloween costumes. Sprawl out October 31st starting at 7pm from Spring Street to 21st street on 6th Avenue and get a glimpse of all this year’s creativity.

ExploreKandinsky at the Guggenheim. Do not miss out on seeing one of the most talented artist of all time before his work heads back to Paris or else.
