Special hosts Sally Field and Robyn Ross were all in attendance along with Rebecca Lolosoli, a Vital Voices Global Leader. Rebecca uses her jewelry and beadwork to provide refuge for women in conflict in her home country, Kenya. Mozella, one of artists featured on Proud to Be Woman, was in attendance and gave an inspiring performance to highlight the evening.

Grammy award winner and featured artist Estelle was in attendance along with Panmela Castro-Anarkia, Brazilian artist and Alyse Nelson, Vital Voices chair. Check out the photos on Facebook from the event. Now through March 15th, 10% of all sales at DVF.com and DVF stores will be donated to Vital Voices.

Tina Brown and Chouchou

Yesterday, Diane hosted a luncheon for Vital Voices to honor Chouchou Namegabe, a recent Global Leadership Award Honoree. The event attracted Vital Voices supporters like Tina Brown, as well as others who were interested in learning more about the organization like Leslie Jane Seymour, Wendi Murdoch, Fabiola Beracasa and Robin Roberts. Chouchou, a self-trained journalist has dedicated her life to helping women of rape and abuse find their voice by recording their stories and broadcasting them across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Chouchou spoke about the terrible attrocities that have been committed against women in her country, but encouraged people not to feel sorry for them but to rather join in the fight and support organizations like Vital Voices who are raising awareness about these issues and providing support.

Diane and Zac Posen

Last night DVF celebrated the 300th anniversary of Tatler at the studio in New York, and many a merry reveler came out to toast the mag. Zac Posen, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman and Erin Fetherson were among the designer attendees, as was one time Tatler ed in chief Tina Brown. Martha Stewart even chatted up some DVF staffers and took a trip to the store to check out the most recent collection.

This year, the annual shopping party has chosen Dress for Success as its charity partner and DVF is proud to be a part of the Shop for Success boutique, where all the proceeds will benefit Dress for Success. In addition to DVF look for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. The event kicks of with a VIP night on Thursday (where 50% of the ticket proceeds will also go towards Dress for Success), and continues through the weekend with all-day shopping on Friday and Saturday.

DVF participated in the 8th annual Susan G. Komen Fashion for the Cure event last Thursday… and it was a great success!

Instead of a typical Hollywood red carpet, guests walked across a pink carpet honoring breast cancer, and kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness month starting in October. Eliza Dushku hosted the event, and spoke about her godmother whom she lost to a breast cancer fight just within the last year; after she spoke about her experiences with the disease Eliza, proudly introduced the DVF 2009/2010 Resort collection. The lights dimmed, the music turned up and the beautiful pieces of resort graced the runway on models and notables such as Denise Richards, Mya, and Caroline D’Amore. But nothing was more special than the moment the survivor models took their moment in the spotlight and showed their strength of survival as they presented a piece from the DVF collection. The guests stood on their feet cheered the models down the runway as they had an opportunity to shine. The survivor models consisted of a courageous group of women who have beaten cancer and are now making a difference in their own communities.

We are so happy to be a part of an event and organization that is making a difference in women’s lives in the community, and around the nation to fight breast cancer.
