With not a minute for downtime, DVF served as their city guide, whisking them from a photo shoot at the Belvedere Gardens to a private tour of the Belvedere Museum’s Klimt collection, including an after hours viewing of “The Kiss.” Wearing DVF wrap dresses, they posed with Diane, herself, perched atop the custom designed DVF Mini Cooper, created for auction at the Life Ball.

Saturday was no less busy with day-long rehearsals and prayers for clear skies. The Rockettes arrived in style with their DVF lip sunglasses, walking the red carpet to meet their international fans. The Life Ball performance began an hour early to avoid inclement weather, and the festivities began with Whoopi Goldberg as MC and Bill Clinton as the guest of honor. When lightening struck, the Rockettes (this time clad in their DVF-designed Love is Life wrap rompers and lip pill box hats), were ready and waiting. Despite in the rain, they lined up to take the stage, just as the weather became too dangerous to perform!

But not even a Viennese thunderstorm could dampen their spirits or Diane’s - they all posed for one final group photo before joining in the Life Ball festivities!

Join efforts on Earth Day at Christie’s Green Auction. Christie’s will be hosting an event to raise awareness and funds to help in the protection of our environment. Proceeds go to the NRDC, Central Park Conservancy, Conservation International and Oceana. Hurry, the bidding on the silent auction has begun on and up for grabs is a day at DVF and tickets to our Spring 2011 show!

It’s that time of year to do some closet spring cleaning, try giving some of your professional pieces to Dress for Success, and they’ll give them to disadvantaged woman who need professional attire for career interviews.

One of the largest yet most forgotten animal is the Asian elephant, a species which needs urgent help. Elephant Family is an organization that is fighting for a world in which elephants would be able to live without threat in their own habitat. DVF has participated in their cause by creating a DVF printed elephant for their Elephant Parade!

One of the best ways to be green is to reuse and regenerate and the High Line is one of the best examples of that. The High Line is an old elevated railroad track that has been restored and turned into a public park running along the west side of Manhattan. So become a Friend of the High Line and support this preservation project.

When the weather starts getting warm in NYC, we all head to suburbs and seek out relief from the heat. The Housatonic Valley Association is an organization that helps protect and restore the Housatonic River which spans from Northern Massachusetts all the way to the Long Island Sound. Get involved to help protect it for ourselves and generations to come.

Make sure to tune in (or set your DVR) on Earth Day, April 22, at 9pm to PBS to see “Going Green New York.” The film follows a handful of New Yorkers as they create more sustainable ways for us to get energy, build homes, eat meals and make our daily commute.

Tina Brown and Chouchou

Yesterday, Diane hosted a luncheon for Vital Voices to honor Chouchou Namegabe, a recent Global Leadership Award Honoree. The event attracted Vital Voices supporters like Tina Brown, as well as others who were interested in learning more about the organization like Leslie Jane Seymour, Wendi Murdoch, Fabiola Beracasa and Robin Roberts. Chouchou, a self-trained journalist has dedicated her life to helping women of rape and abuse find their voice by recording their stories and broadcasting them across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Chouchou spoke about the terrible attrocities that have been committed against women in her country, but encouraged people not to feel sorry for them but to rather join in the fight and support organizations like Vital Voices who are raising awareness about these issues and providing support.

Diane and Zac Posen

Last night DVF celebrated the 300th anniversary of Tatler at the studio in New York, and many a merry reveler came out to toast the mag. Zac Posen, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman and Erin Fetherson were among the designer attendees, as was one time Tatler ed in chief Tina Brown. Martha Stewart even chatted up some DVF staffers and took a trip to the store to check out the most recent collection.
