WOMEN WE LOVE: RACHEL BILSON
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

WHO: Rachel Bilson

WHY: She first caught our attention as Marissa Cooper’s sassy best friend with a rockin’ sense of style on teen drama The O.C, then emerged back on the scene with her very own clothing line a couple years later. Whether she is walking her dog through the streets of L.A. or appearing as a guest judge on Project Runway she always shows her eclectic style. Here she is in the DVF’s Miranda Ruffles Dress from Her Name Is Rio collection, looking fabulous as always.

WHAT: Miranda Ruffles Printed Chiffon Dress, From the DVF Resort 2009/2010 collection.

FASHION CURE
Monday, September 28th, 2009

DVF participated in the 8th annual Susan G. Komen Fashion for the Cure event last Thursday… and it was a great success!

Instead of a typical Hollywood red carpet, guests walked across a pink carpet honoring breast cancer, and kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness month starting in October. Eliza Dushku hosted the event, and spoke about her godmother whom she lost to a breast cancer fight just within the last year; after she spoke about her experiences with the disease Eliza, proudly introduced the DVF 2009/2010 Resort collection. The lights dimmed, the music turned up and the beautiful pieces of resort graced the runway on models and notables such as Denise Richards, Mya, and Caroline D’Amore. But nothing was more special than the moment the survivor models took their moment in the spotlight and showed their strength of survival as they presented a piece from the DVF collection. The guests stood on their feet cheered the models down the runway as they had an opportunity to shine. The survivor models consisted of a courageous group of women who have beaten cancer and are now making a difference in their own communities.

We are so happy to be a part of an event and organization that is making a difference in women’s lives in the community, and around the nation to fight breast cancer.

WOMEN’S NIGHT
Friday, September 25th, 2009

Wendi Murdoch, Sarah Brown, Queen Raina, Nicole Kidman and Liya Kebede

What a crowd of amazing women in the same room the other night at Cipriani!! Never have I seen so many powerful, committed women all sitting looking glamourous and being so concerned and efficient. Wendi Murdoch, Queen Raina and Sarah Brown (left with Nicole Kidman and Liya Kebede) spoke and were so compelling in their dedication for White Ribbon Alliance that everyone in the room decided to do something!! So, be ready and expect something fun and useful to happen for Mother’s Day 2010 in all DVF shops that will enhance the exposure and raise money for White Ribbon Alliance.
