On June 18th, Diane presented her first fashion show in Europe, returning to the place where the wrap dress was originally created in 1974 – Florence, Italy. On the occasion of Pitti W Immagine, DVF showed ‘La Petite Valise’, a collection of quintessential travel pieces for today’s global woman – luxurious and seasonless, chic and eminently ‘packabale’. The Cruise/ Pre-Spring 2008/2009 collection was inspired by the American jeunesse dorée traveling abroad. Our muse travels from London to Italy in fresh and flirty silhouettes, seasonless fabrics and vivid, graphic prints inspired by the deco glamour of Claridges and the timeless elegance of Venice’s Gritti Palace. The show was held outdoors in the legendary, privately owned Torrigiani Gardens in the center of Florence. A Tuscan picnic followed hilltop, under the glow of a full moon.
