"I think 14th Street is the new 57th Street, and I am so excited to be here,"
—Diane von Furstenberg
After six years on West 12th Street, the DVF flagship boutique has relocated to 872 Washington Street at the corner of 14th Street. Boasting 2,100 square feet, the New York shop is the largest DVF free-standing store worldwide, and the first DVF store to be designed by Dan Wood and Amale Andraos, of architecture firm WORKac. Much like the original flagship on West 12th Street, the new design was inspired by the idea of a glittering jewel box; a very open white space set against a glossy lilac floor with constellations of mirrors spiraling across the ceiling.
"I can't think of anywhere better to have opened my new shop," says von Furstenberg, "Between Jeffrey, McQueen, Scoop, and others for shopping, the galleries in nearby Chelsea, the Highline, the coming Whitney Museum, the Standard Hotel, and all of the great restaurants and nightclubs, the Meatpacking District has become a New York cultural pulse!"
The shop will continue to offer the full range of Diane von Furstenberg ready-to-wear including dresses, sportswear, eveningwear, swimwear, handbags, accessories, DVF Vintage, exclusive runway looks, and Christian Louboutin shoes. Fresh collections arrive monthly. The shop will also offer an edited selection of the DVF Beauty collection and a limited selection of the Diane von Furstenberg by H. Stern fine jewelry collection.
